Texas Plant Ban and White List: A Rising Concern!

As some of you may know, the state of Texas is on the verge of converting from a black list to a white list. Like most states, if not currently, all states follow a black list which lists all plants that are prohibited and banned unless registered for a permit/license. Although I do not live in the state of Texas, I have many planted aquarium friends who do and it is important to me that I spread the word on this issue. The rising issue does not only affect those who only keep aquarium plants, but to those who also keep ponds, businesses who deal with plants for their client’s aquariums, landscape companies, etc.

Advancing and Promoting Aquascaping As A Form of Art

In the past decade, many aquarium hobbyists have tried to advance the planted aquarium hobby and aquatic gardening as a form of art. When I first got into the planted aquarium hobby, I only saw that keeping plants in an aquarium was a way to provide a natural look and comfort for the fauna. Furthermore, during my early years of keeping aquarium plants, my intentions were to only keep them growing, or better yet, keep them alive. I had no idea that through the world of aquascaping and aquatic gardening that we, as hobbyists, would be able to advance further into this hobby to realize that with the use of our creativity, we would be able to create breathtaking underwater environments in our aquarium.
